Davood Roostaeis is an artist committed to a human cause, to whom painting means life. At the same time he strives to convey to his fellow-man his message of fraternity and tolerance, resprenting it passionately with all his strength, enforced by his own bitter experiences with an intolerant totalitarian regime. He is an universal artist who, metaphorically speaking, paints with the blood of his own heart. A suggestive painter with a strong individual aura, who has inuitively developed an independent painting concept.
The painting genius, Davood grew up in the south of Persia. His parents, who gave him a very modern education, are not able to participate in his success. His father, who died young, was a respected surgeon and also an artist. After completing High School and University, Davood came to Germany. Due to his refusal to do military service during the Iran-Iraqian War he was set to prison for 24 months, because he rejected war and killing.
